Navigating through the eerie environment of Watery in Alan Wake 2 presents players with several brain-teasing puzzles, including the locked safe inside the Coffee World Gift Shop. Opening this safe is essential because it holds the key needed to access Saga's trailer and advance the main story line. Knowing where to find the gift shop and how to interpret the clues hidden inside will save you plenty of time during your playthrough.
Where to Find the Coffee World Gift Shop
The gift shop is located within the Coffee World theme park area in the region of Watery. Players will reach this location during Chapter 3 of Saga Anderson's storyline. Accessing the inside of the shop requires using the screwdriver tool to pop the lock on the door.
Once inside, you will notice a locked safe sitting on a counter behind the desk. A note on top of the safe provides a mysterious hint regarding job titles rather than explicit numbers. To solve the safe puzzle, you must examine the staff board displayed elsewhere in the shop.
How to Decipher the Staff Board Clues
The note attached to the safe references three key roles: Tracker, Lookout, and Cleaner. You need to match these titles to the job descriptions on the employee board to identify the corresponding staff members. Susan handles Lost and Found (Tracker), Joonas works in Security (Lookout), and Victor serves as the Janitor (Cleaner).
By checking the coffee bean stickers assigned to each staff photo on the board, you can determine their numerical values. Susan has 1 bean, Joonas has 4 beans, and Victor has 6 beans. This sequence reveals that the correct combination to unlock the safe is 1-4-6.
Rewards and Next Steps in Watery
Inputting the code 1-4-6 into the safe keypad will immediately unlock it and reward you with the Trailer Park Key. This key allows Saga to unlock her trailer and gather vital information to progress the narrative. Be sure to grab any extra manuscript pages and items sitting on the surrounding counters before heading back out into the park.
